Position Overview
The Lead Baker is responsible for overseeing daily bagel production, maintaining product quality and consistency, and leading the baking team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an early-morning, high-accountability environment and cares deeply about process, standards, and team culture.
This role reports directly to ownership and plays a critical part in scaling production while protecting product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily sourdough bagel production from mix to bake
Help build a strong, positive kitchen culture
2+ years of professional baking experience (artisan bread or bagels preferred)
Experience with naturally leavened doughs strongly preferred
Leadership or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of fermentation, hydration, and dough development
Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Takes ownership and pride in craftsmanship
