Position Overview

The Lead Baker is responsible for overseeing daily bagel production, maintaining product quality and consistency, and leading the baking team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an early-morning, high-accountability environment and cares deeply about process, standards, and team culture.

This role reports directly to ownership and plays a critical part in scaling production while protecting product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily sourdough bagel production from mix to bake

  • Help build a strong, positive kitchen culture

  • 2+ years of professional baking experience (artisan bread or bagels preferred)

  • Experience with naturally leavened doughs strongly preferred

  • Leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong understanding of fermentation, hydration, and dough development

  • Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

  • Takes ownership and pride in craftsmanship
